However while the ice cream is a well-known regional favorite, Margaret Ann is quietly beavering away producing some of the best artisan cheese in the country - and that's official!
Not one to blow her own trumpet, Margaret Ann has let the critics do her blowing for her by winning the James Aldridge Memorial Trophy, by the Specialist Cheesemakers Association (SCA), seen as the Oscars of the cheese world! Not content with that, Doddington Dairy then went on to win the BBC Food and Farming Awards for Best Food Producer in 2015.
But one thing was missing from the party - some really great photographs of the cheese itself. Even the most passionate of cheese enthusiast would have to admit, a snap of a lump of cheese is struggling to become fine art. However with some clever lighting and a hint of atmosphere the resulting photographs retain the artisan, rustic nature of the products while hinting at its jewel like qualities.
