It's 2012 - no need to panic!
Well 2012 is here and we'd like to wish ...
Jon Monks at Shepherds Walks was one of our very first clients way back then. In fact, there’s a very good chance that it was the very first e-commerce site to bare the Produced by Lazy Grace tag.
Today the business has grown into an established specialist business delivering services as diverse as holidays to educational training whilst still retailing every gadget and guide the keen walker could ever require. When you have a business growing as strongly as this it’s key that your web presence can grow to reflect this fact and that your designers are committed to working with the business to deliver beyond expectations – not just once, but continually.
Shepherds walks is a fantastic testament as to what it is possible to create thanks to the power of effective niche focus on the internet. An ex-shepherd who writes walks and sells them for £1.50? Including postage anywhere in the world? Walks, in Northumberland? How on earth can anyone build a business doing that then?!
But build one you can – and in Jon’s case – build one he most certainly has!
The most recent incarnation of the website – the third since we began working with the business, is packed full of high-end technological wizardry encased within a user-friendly, intuitive, brand enhancing design and workflow. Neat functionality to get the techies drooling includes automated SMS text reminders to participant in guided walks and events, automated health and safety legislative documentation signed at the time of booking, multiple product linking – from walking events to the correct OS map and beyond.
The Content Management System (CMS) which allows Jon and his team to administer the website at any time was built and designed from the ground up for that business – not some “Out of the box” or open-source package which would require a user manual the thickness of an average telephone directory!
